Description

Butylated Hydroxytoluene (B.H.T.) is a white crystalline solid which is an organic compound used as a stabiliser and antioxidant for various skin care and cosmetic products. As it is an antioxidant, it works by damaging the protective outer layer of viral cells, keeping the viruses from multiplying and doing more damage. This helps maintain the properties and performance of a product even when it is exposed to air, avoiding any change in odour, colour, or texture.

Unlike some other antioxidants, BHT may resist high temperatures.
